MIXTAPE: GOD BLESS THE CHILD THAT’S GOT HIS OWN, by artist Paul Zelevansky, combines video footage, animation, graphics, text, sound effects, and music samples to create a narrative exploring the intersections of everyday life, pop culture, and various questions about knowledge and belief. One monitor screen will be set up facing through the window onto Liberty Avenue, and music and sound will be audible on the street. This visual art installation will be on view from September 25 through December 31.
About the Artist
Paul Zelevansky is an artist, writer and teacher currently residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Zelevansky’s work includes video, animation, artist books, theoretical writing, and performance. His most recent book is 24 IDEAS ABOUT PICTURES, a primer composed of 24 visual/verbal propositions about the grammar, meaning, and metaphysics of pictures.
Zelevansky earned his Ed.D. in art education and master’s degree in instructional technology from Columbia Teachers College, master’s degree in painting from the University of Iowa, and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Institute of Technology.
